In 2009 Rhian Evans and Geoff Vaughan left the world of regular employment and embarked on a journey. It started with a “Dragon’s Den” style investment to set up the very first website where you could book campsites online. Whilst growing that technology the small matter of the London 2012 Olympics was on the horizon. With our operational heads on, a love of sports and the wish to be able to support community sports clubs, Camping At The Games was born. In December 2011 we had the beginnings of an idea, by the end of September 2012 we had had over 12,000 visitors, Gamesmakers and workers stay at one of our 13 sports club and school campsites we created across London and the South East. Hundreds of thousands of pounds were raised to build new facilities, pay coaches, invest in equipment and boost community sport participation.
